The dead body of eight-year old Gabriel Cruz was found on Sunday morning in the boot of his father's girlfriend's car, the Civil Guard confirmed to The Spain Report on Sunday evening, after being reported missing on February 27.

The woman, 35-year old Ana Julia Quezada, was arrested in La Puebla de Vícar (El País) or Vicar (El Mundo), by officers who had been following her.

Both towns are some 55km from the village of Las Hortichuelas in Andalusia, where hundreds of specialist police officers and volunteers had spent 12 days searching for the boy, to no avail.
